'Safewords' (album stream)

Deranged Records' steady transformation from being North America's most reliable hardcore label to also being North America's most reliable post-punk label continues with the new release of the self-titled debut from sadly defunct Minneapolis outfit Safewords.

The label describes this record as "Ian Curtist singing for the Wipers," which is fairly apt — across Safewords' 10 songs, the band showcase a penchant for rumbling bass, inventive guitar work and timelessly cold vocal delivery.
