Ahead of making his debut with Yellow Magic Orchestra in 1978, Ryuichi Sakamoto first released solo album Thousand Knives Of that same year. Now, the classic album is set to be reissued outside of Japan for the first time in decades.

The Thousand Knives Of reissue is set to arrive November 8 through WeWantSounds. The new pressing also marks the album's first release on vinyl outside of Japan since 1982.

Remastered from the original tapes by producer and engineer Seigen Ono, the reissue features the album's original artwork and coveted obi strip, as well a four-page insert with new liner notes from Paul Bowler. You can revisit album cut "Plastic Bamboo" in the player below.

Sakamoto recently appeared on a new solo album from Blonde Redhead's Kazu Makino.
