After Oneohtrix Point Never shared his Ryuichi Sakamoto rework back in July, Arca has now stepped into the ring with a remix of the Japanese composer's "async."
Arca's reinterpretation of the title track from Sakamoto's most recent studio LP can be heard below. The song will be included on a companion LP titled async - remodels that will also feature remixes from Cornelius, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Motion Graphics, Electric Youth and more.
The remix collection will arrive this fall through Milan Records, with each remix arriving on a bi-weekly basis until then. Sakamoto's async also finally came out today (September 8) on vinyl through Milan.
Additionally, he's launched a short film competition based on the record, in which entrants can win cash prizes or custom music written by Sakamoto himself. More information on the contest can be found here.
