Ryan Adams Preps New Outtakes EP for Record Store Day

Ryan Adams has been churning out the new releases as of late. In addition to unveiling previously unreleased archival recordings, he's been delving into metal and planning a "super cool" new batch of songs. With that in mind, here's a piece of news that will come as a surprise to no one: on Record Store Day (April 16), the prolific alt-country songwriter will be releasing a new EP exclusively to participating retailers.

As Wax Poetic [via TwentyFourBit] points out, Ryan Adams will drop Class Mythology, a collection of four studio outtakes from the Cardinology era (that is, 2008). It will come out on two seven-inch records, one yellow and one orange. In total, 2,500 copies will be pressed and they will come with a poster and a sticker.

Adams posted a picture of the record on his Facebook page. You can see it above. The exact tracklist is unknown, but it will include a song called "Invisible Red." The release will come out via PAX-AM, the label run by Adams himself.

Head down to your local indie store on April 16 to get your copy. Meanwhile, we can only assume that Adams will be plotting more new recordings and archival releases.
