Ryan Adams, James Murphy, Iggy Pop Contribute to Literary Magazine
Remember when Ryan Adams (pictured) said that he was quitting music to become an author? His retirement didn't last long, but Adams hasn't given up his writing aspirations just yet. His work will appear in next month's issue of online literary magazine Five Dials, which will also contain writing by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, Iggy Pop, Kele of Bloc Party, Dean Wareham of Galaxie 500/Luna/Dean & Britta and former Guided By Voices member James Greer.

These musicians' pieces will take a variety of forms in Five Dials, including poetry, short story and memoir. According to KEXP, Adams's contribution is a poem, while Murphy wrote a piece about his track "Losing My Edge."

The magazine is free and is published by Hamish Hamilton in PDF format. The music-themed issue will also include features on the Woodstock and Burning Man festivals. It will be available starting Saturday (July 24). If you would like a copy emailed to your inbox, you can sign up here.
