Ryan Adams Fans Arrested On A Jacksonville City Night

BY Cam LindsayPublished Jan 17, 2007

Two fans of alt-country pin-up Ryan Adams are in hot water after posting a copy of Adams’s second album of 2005, Jacksonville City Night online before its official release. Robert Thomas of Milwaukee and Jared Bowser of Jacksonville, FL (how’s that for dedication) were charged with posting portions of Adams’s album onto the internet a month before its intended street date in September. Believed to be the first indictments under the pre-release provision of the 2005 Family Entertainment and Copyright Act (FECA), the two could face up to 11 years in prison if they are convicted.
