Rural Alberta Advantage Expand Tour, Bring Even More Prairie Rock
As we previously reported, Toronto, ON-based indie rock crew the Rural Alberta Advantage are the latest Canadian exports to get snatched up by Saddle Creek. On July 7, the famed U.S. indie is putting out RAA's Alberta-themed debut album, Hometowns. And with this added label boost giving the band a little extra strength, they're now extending their upcoming North American tour, basically doubling the group's upcoming dates.

Starting this weekend in L.A., the RAA will bring their Hometowns sounds to a pile of cities both south and north of the border, tacking on shows in Brooklyn, Vancouver, Edmonton and even in their new label's hometown of Omaha. To refresh your memory, the band say that on the record "they sing about summers in the Rockies and winters on the farm, ice breakups in the spring time and the oil boom's charm, the mine workers on compressed, the equally depressed, the city's slow growth and the country's wild rose, but mostly the songs just try to embrace the advantage of growing up in Alberta."

To get a taste of this you can click here and, for the price of free, download album track "Don't Haunt This Place," which we recently described in our Click Hear column as "a perfect taster that demonstrates both the simplicity and beauty that courses through their stark music." In other words, we like it.
