The Rural Alberta Advantage Book North American Winter Tour, Plot New Album for 2014

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 30, 2013

It's been well over two years since the Rural Alberta Advantage released their sophomore album, Departing, in early 2011, and now they've announced plans to release their next LP in 2014. Before that comes out, though, they will hit the road in January for a short North American tour.

The outing is a short one, as it lasts for a little more than a week during winter. The schedule includes seven shows in all; most of them are in the U.S., but there are also Ontario gigs in Kingston and Ottawa on January 18 and 19, respectively. See the schedule below.

During these gigs, the band will play selections from their past albums while road-testing some new material. They're apparently in the final stages of writing the new album, and they will be entering the studio soon.

Tour dates:

01/15 Minneapolis, MN - Cedar Cultural Center
01/16 Milwaukee, WI - Turner Hall
01/17 Chicago, IL - Lincoln Hall, Tomorrow Never Knows
01/18 Kingston, ON - Grad Club
01/19 Ottawa, ON - Ritual
01/22 Brooklyn, NY - Glasslands
01/23 New York, NY - Mercury Lounge
