Run the Jewels Attacked Onstage at SXSW

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 17, 2015

Run the Jewels are known for their aggressive, hell-raising rap, but one audience member evidently got a little too carried away today (March 16) at Austin's South by Southwest festival, since he tried to attack the band during a show.

The duo of Killer Mike and El-P were performing at the Spotify House when a man stormed the stage and confronted them mid-song. Luckily, the rappers escaped injury, as they defended themselves and the man was funnelled off stage, where he continued to fight with fans and security.

Fan-shot footage shows that the man ultimately got felled by a punch, and Killer Mike started a "fuck boy" chant.

After the show, El-P sent out a few tweets about the incident. Read his message below, and scroll past that to watch fan-captured footage of the attack [via Instagram user djfreeverse].
