R&S Re-launch Label, Release Aphex Twin, CJ Bolland, Dave Angel Remasters
After a lengthy silence, seminal techno label R & S is back up and running. Following a hiatus that began at the start of the decade, the Belgian label re-launched the other week and announced a long series of digital remasters and plans for future new releases.

So far, the reissue campaign includes Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works 85-92, CJ Bolland’s The 4th Sign, Ken Ishii’s Jelly Tones, Dave Angel’s Classics, and two albums from Model 500 (aka first-wave Detroit producer Juan Atkins), Deep Space and Classics. Each back-catalogue release has been uploaded to Beatport for your downloading pleasure, with more remasters to be added in the near future.

"I put the label on hold a few years ago because everything had got so stale,” said Renaat Vandepapeliere, who founded R & S in 1983, in a press statement. "Now electronic music feels vibrant and exciting again, and the digital sphere has given independent labels so many interesting new opportunities to explore. The time has come for R&S to ride again.”

Over the coming months, the label will re-release its entire back catalogue, including long-out-of-print singles, and has enlisted Phonica Records’ Dan Foat to handle A&R duties for new and upcoming signings and remixes.
