Rosekill

Rocked!Shocked!Thrilled!

Montreal’s Rosekill play traditional rockabilly complete with stand-up bass, Gretsch guitars and lots of tattoos. In the tradition of Wanda Jackson, Rosekill’s singer Lili Sweet plays the tough yet vulnerable "woman done wrong” role in "My Bloody Valentine" and "Rollin’." The band manages to keep the songs from veering into the dreaded generic psychobilly zone by adding blues elements in "Alright" and torch song touches in "New Day." Anyone familiar with the European group Sin Alley will hear very strong similarities to Rosekill. Extra points have to be awarded for the crazy cover artwork, movie samples and the moody yet restrained movie soundtrack-inspired bonus track.
