Ron Sexsmith Unveils New Album 'The Vivian Line,' Shares Lead Single "What I Had in Mind"

It follows the prolific artist's 2020 album 'HERMITAGE'

Prolific St. Catharines-born singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith has announced his 18th(!) studio album, led by new single "What I Had in Mind."

The Vivian Line will be drawn on February 17 through Warner. It follows 2020's HERMITAGE.

The album was named for the rural route near the artist's home in Stratford, ON, which he views as "representing a sort of portal between my old life in Toronto and my new life here," according to a press release.

Written almost entirely during a particularly productive period of 2021 for Sexsmith, The Vivian Line was recorded in Nashville with producer Brad Jones at his studio, Alex the Great.

If "What I Had in Mind" is any indication, the singer-songwriter's trademark catchy melodies will be out in full force. The single is a plucky, optimistic number that's boosted by female backing vocals and sure to put a spring in your step.
