Canadian songwriting hero Ron Sexsmith is coming back into our lives with a new album, single and even a Canadian tour.

Sexsmith will release his new all-caps album HERMITAGE on April 17 via Warner Music Canada. To go along with it, we've just got the first single "You Don't Wanna Hear It."

Describing the new song, Sexsmith said in a statement, "It's a song about someone who has their nose all out of joint about something and are not in the mood to hear the truth."

Hear "You Don't Wanna Hear It" below — unless you really don't wanna hear it.

As for the album as a whole, it's Sexsmith's first since moving from his longtime home of Toronto to Stratford, ON. The album was recorded with producer Don Kerr, with the pair setting up in Sexsmith's living room to record HERMITAGE. Sexsmith played all the instruments on the record besides the drums.

As for Sexsmith's tour, he will kick off a Canadian trek in May. The tour will consist of seven dates, running from Victoria to Toronto.

You can see the full Canadian schedule below. Tickets go on sale January 21 at 12 p.m. local time and come with a download of HERMITAGE.

Following the Canadian run, Sexsmith has a string of dates overseas. You can see those on his website.
