The Rolling Stones have been belatedly celebrating their 50th anniversary with their "50 and Counting" tour, and now the iconic rock group's legacy is being celebrated with the launch of a reissue series, the first three titles of which have now been confirmed.
The series is called The Rolling Stones Clearly Classic and it's being spearheaded by ABKCO Music & Records. On May 28, the label will issue remastered versions 1968's Beggars Banquet, 1969's Let It Bleed and the 1971 compilation Hot Rocks 1964–1971. These have all been pressed on 180-gram clear vinyl (or, in the case of Hot Rocks 1964–1971, clear double vinyl).
According to an announcement from the label, these classic albums "reflect the group's formative years and transformation into 'The World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band' at the end of the 1960s and into the early '70s."
