'In Dust' (album stream)

Swedish electronic duo Roll the Dice are back with their second album and the band's first on Leaf. It will be released on September 20, but you can stream the new record now at Exclaim.ca.

The band consists of Malcolm Pardon and Peder Mannerfelt, also known for his work with Fever Ray, under the alias the Subliminal Kid. The focus, however, is clearly on Roll the Dice at the moment. In Dust features 11 new tracks, channelling electronic hypnotic blend of kosmische influences.

The previously released trailer for the new album gave fans a glimpse of strangely beautiful imagery, including men riding horses on a beach and an eerily lit studio soundboard. What does this have to do with the new album? Who knows, but it definitely raised intrigue and anticipation for the new material.

A press release describes the new LP's sound thusly: "It feels lived in and worn down, like an old twelve-inch that's been spun many times, its groove scratched and erratic."
