Rogue’s Gallery UK Shows Announced With Lou Reed, Pete Doherty & Robyn Hitchcock
There’s something about sea chanteys that make them the type of songs best consumed live, preferably on a big-ass boat sailing the vast blue oceans. And it’s perhaps for this reason that the people who brought you 2006’s Rogue’s Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys are now turning the Pirates of the Caribbean-related comp into a live revue. Sadly, though, it won’t be on the high seas.

With an impressive list of musicians such as Lou Reed, Pete Doherty, Robyn Hitchcock and White Magic, the Rogue’s Gallery tracks will be played live and on land for the first time during a trio of dates in the UK and Ireland. And according to Anti-, the label that released the original compilation, we can expect the following: "They will take us on a trip like no other, exploring the hardships, the horrors, the lusts and lurid depths, and the crystal beauty that led men to the sea in ships for hundreds of years.”

Sound enticing? Here are the dates, as well as the long, long list of performers:
