Past and present members of Fleet Foxes have been busy outside of the act this year, with former drummer Josh Tillman delivering his Father John Misty LP and bassist Christian Wargo and keyboardist Casey Wescott issuing an album as Poor Moon. Now band leader Robin Pecknold will put an unreleased tune on a 10-inch compilation accompanying the premiere edition of new literary journal The Unified Field.

As TwentyFourBit reports, a press release for the publication, which is expected to arrive September 18, explains that Pecknold's tune will be joined on the wax platter by tracks from prolific folk auteur Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Grizzly Bear offshoot Department of Eagles and Amen Dunes. While a tracklisting has yet been offered up, the one-sheet exclaims that the tracks are presented "in their raw, newly crafted state," and further describes them as "a rare glimpse at works between conception and completion."

As for the 60-page publication, it will feature a journal entry from West Memphis 3 member Damien Echols on life after being released from an 18-year stint on death row, excerpts from an upcoming book from Gloria Steinem, and photos from Autumn de Wilde. You can pre-order a copy here.
