Robin Pecknold

"Swimming"

Coming off some recent live dates opening up for Joanna Newsom, Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold has streamed a new solo tune into the digi-sphere.

If you were expecting something folky, guess again. Pecknold's "Swimming" is an instrumental piece big on the haunting, tremolo whirr of a guitar, assorted atmospheric textures, and a simple but steady drum beat.

Like last year's cover of the Five Keys' "Out of Sight, Out of Mind," Pecknold is joined on the track by percussionist Neal Morgan.

No word on if Pecknold plans to put out a fuller release any time soon, but you can hear the newly loosened "Swimming" down below.
