Robert Wyatt to Drop Massive Ten-Disc Box Set

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jun 8, 2009

As we reported last year, British psych king and founder of the Soft Machine, Robert Wyatt had the majority of his catalogue reissued via Domino Records, with the promise of a massive box set at some point in the future. Well, the time has nearly come, as Domino are currently preparing to release a ten-disc Wyatt box this summer.

The box compiles the albums Rock Bottom, Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard, Nothing Can Stop Us, Old Rottenhat, Dondestan Revisited, Shleep, Cuckooland, Robert Wyatt and Friends and Comicopera), as well as a tenth disc of material originally released on super-limited EPs from 1974 on.

The ten-disc box set will be coming out on CD on August 3 in the UK, and wishful thinkers should keep on wishing for a vinyl box soon after, as one is yet to be announced.
