Toronto musician River Tiber (real name Tommy Paxton-Beesley) is no stranger to crafting collaborations with high-profile artists, having worked with the likes of Drake, Daniel Caesar and BADBADNOTGOOD both at home and abroad. He's not done adding to his already impressive roster of musical pals, though, having just dropped a new track with Pusha T and Kaytranada.
Titled "Illusions," the track dropped on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show today (March 30). As Paxton-Beesley told the radio host, the song first came alive in Los Angeles, where he and Kaytranada laid down the bones of the track. It was finished back home in Toronto, where additional production work was done by the Weeknd's frequent collaborator Doc McKinney.
The result is a slinky, smooth slow-jam that gets some edgy energy injected into it thanks to the guest bars from Pusha T.
River Tiber's debut album Indigo is due out later this spring, while "Illusions" will be given a single release through Red Bull Sound Select on April 8. For now, listen to "Illusions" below.
