Published May 12, 2016Returning to the banks of the Sturgeon River for the eighth annual edition, Ontario's River & Sky festival has announced the musical lineup for its 2016 event.
This year, the music and camping event will take place from July 14 to 17 on the grounds of Fishers' Paradise (between Sudbury and North Bay), and topping the bill are Hey Rosetta!, Beach Fossils, the Sadies, METZ and Basia Bulat.
Other names within the lineup include Bry Webb & the Providers, the Courtneys, Ought, TOPS, Moss Lime, Darlene Shrugg, Language Arts, Nap Eyes, Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar, Quantum Tangle, Steve Lambke, PHERN, Yonatan Gat, Hurt Protector, Hidden Roots Collective, Dunes, Dirty Princes, Hello Holiday, David Dino White, Barry Miles, Submerged Objects, Josh Turnbull, Night Terrors, Matt Foy, Sik Rik, the Ape-ettes, Annie Sumi and Eric Clancy.
More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
This year also marks a change in the festival format. Having run three days in the past, organizers have now lined up four days to celebrate indie music in the wilderness. River & Sky 2016 will also yield more workshops and art installations, in addition to the festival's three stages.
"Each year we have 130 or so members helping put on the festival. They've asked for a longer, extended mix of River and Sky," festival director Peter Zwarich said in a statement. "And so this year, we'll have four days of music with great bands from across Canada and the U.S., as well as our regional stars."
Plenty of ticketing options are available, with four-day advance passes available for $180 and three-day passes available for $135. Single day and single night passes are also available, and vary in price based on day.
Further festival and ticketing information can be found through River and Sky's official website.
