Published May 10, 2014Recapping the top stories of the week, our news roundup is back once again to help you get up to speed. So if you're feeling foggy on the week that was, here's a glimpse at some of the biggest stories that graced our headlines.
First off, it was a big week in beefs. Not only did we get Flamings Lips' Wayne Coyne responding to accusations of racism from the band's now ex-drummer, but we had Black Keys' Patrick Carney reigniting his feud with Justin Bieber, Glenn Danzig suing his former band the Misfits over merchandising profits (something the group says it is all sour grapes on Danzig's part), and Morrissey's team apparently causing some big-time drama with We Are Scientists and PAWS at a California show. It also doesn't help that Moz had to cut his show short earlier in the week due to an overly aggressive stage invader.
In other news, Riot Fest Toronto rolled out its 2014 lineup, while Jack White gave us the "ultra LP" and Sony introduced a 185 terrabyte tape (though it's more geared for data than straight-up music).
And finally, a lawsuit has been launched concerning the rights to Rodriguez's music, Dr. Dre declared himself the first billionaire in hip-hop thanks to an alleged deal with Apple and Japan's Ogre You Asshole returned with a long-awaited new single, which they premiered right here on Exclaim.ca.
