Ringworm Return with 'Hammer of the Witch,' Premiere Title Track

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 14, 2014

Coming off their recent Bleed EP for Relapse Records, veteran Cleveland hardcore crew Ringworm have now delivered the details of their proper album debut for the label. The group's Hammer of the Witch will be ready to wreck you on March 18.

The LP will be the first from the long-running Ohio metal/hardcore band since 2011's Scars, and a press release notes that the set is full of "fire-y rage." This is apparently in part due to a mix of "riffs and grooves" as much as it is the viciously screamed vocals of frontman James Bulloch (a.k.a. Human Furnace).

Already we've heard "Bleed," plucked from last year's 10-inch release of the same name, but the band are now previewing the title cut to Hammer of the Witch. You can check out the steamrolled rhythms, demonic wails and fretboard-scouring guitar solos of the angstily paced fist-pumper down beneath the tracklisting. That's the demonically awesome album cover above.

Pre-order packages for Hammer of the Witch are up for sale now over on the Relapse site, ranging from LP and T-shirt bundles to colour vinyl variants. You can find out more over here.

Ringworm will help support their upcoming album with a host of North American shows with fellow hardcore wrecking crew Death Before Dishonor. No shows take place in Canada, mind you, but you can check out the tour schedule over here.
