Last year saw the release of Rina Sawayama's debut album SAWAYAMA. The artist had mapped out a North American tour when she announced her record in January, but as you may have guessed, the pandemic derailed those plans.
Now, Sawayama has plotted a new run for spring 2022, and Canada is lucky to have a couple of dates scheduled on the trek.
Beginning on April 11, 2022, after a quick tour around Europe, Sawayama will hit San Fransisco for a two-night opening run. On May 2, she'll make her way in Toronto for a performance at Danforth Music Hall, followed by a next-day performance at Montreal's Corona Theatre.
All tickets from the original run will be honoured on their newly rescheduled date; however, several venues have had to be upgraded following Sawayama's newfound popularity.
Earlier this month, Sawayama dropped a remix of last year's Danny L Harle-produced single "Chosen Family" with Elton John, who called his collaborator "a brilliant, confidence-oozing, endlessly fascinating songwriter and performer."
By the time the artist concludes the North American tour, it will have been two years since the release of her debut album.
