Ridley Scott already has one of Exclaim!'s Most Anticipated Films of 2024 in his forthcoming Gladiator sequel, and he's already looking to line up another major project in a forthcoming Bee Gees biopic.

Deadline reports that Scott "is in negotiations" to direct the yet-to-be-titled film from Paramount Pictures, centred on the trio of Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb.

News of a Bee Gees biopic first broke in 2019, upon Paramount's purchase of the life rights to the Gibb family estate on behalf of Bohemian Rhapsody producer Graham King and studio Sister.

In 2021, it was reported that actor and filmmaker Kenneth Branagh was attached to direct the biopic. Eldest brother and group member Barry Gibb — who is also the last surviving Bee Gee — is still set to executive produce.

Scott's Gladiator sequel, starring Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal, arrives November 22.
