Rick Ross Announces Likely Album Delay, Jay-Z Collab

Rick Ross was gearing up to engage his largest fanbase ever with the release of God Forgives, I Don't on December 13. Then, earlier this month, he suffered two seizures and his health is still looking a little iffy. Because of this, the rapper has revealed that the new album will most likely get delayed.

Speaking with MTV News, Ross explained that the album's due date was "still tentative," adding, "If I wanted to, I'm pretty sure I could still meet that date, but I think for the people, it's more important [to lay groundwork] for when I get out there and look them in the face and touch them hands... We've just gotta lay ground for it, and I'mma keep y'all updated."

It's hard enough for rappers to stick to release dates without unwanted health issues, so don't be surprised if the album doesn't surface until 2012. Thankfully, the extra waiting time meant Ricky Rozay could team up with Jay-Z for a brand new track.

"Just expect the biggest collabo we've ever made together," Ross said. "It's just gonna make the project mean that much more... Anytime me and the Big Homie get together, you know I'm coming with my A-game, 'cause I wanna make sure the homie is impressed with whatever I'm coming to the table with -- and he was. He blessed me, so y'all get ready for it."

When it does finally drop, God Forgives, I Don't will be available via Maybach Music Group.
