Rick Astley Gives Us Another Cover of Foo Fighters' "Everlong" from Quarantine

Rick Astley has delivered yet another cover of his favourite song — "Everlong" by Foo Fighters — in a lockdown video performance posted over the weekend.

Following Astley's 2016 cover of the same jam, he has returned to share an acoustic rendition of the classic 1997 track, which he has apparently been fond of for quite some time.

"Sometimes you just have to find the song that's gonna lift your spirits and put you in another place, and I've been doing that a lot recently with music," he said leading into his performance. "And one of the bands I always go to — believe it or not — is Foo Fighters."

The "Never Gonna Give You Up"-credited '80s sensation and Foos frontman Dave Grohl hooked up back in 2018 when the singer was invited to join the band on stage at Summer Sonic festival in Japan. They've reunited on several occasions since, including last year's Reading Festival and at Club NME.

So far, they've yet to officially record a duet of "Everlong" together, but maybe if Astley keeps his covers catalogue up, that possibility might not be far off.
