Alex O'Connor — a.k.a. Rex Orange County — stands accused of assaulting a woman six times, appearing at London's Southwark Crown Court earlier today to address the charges.
The Sun reports that an unnamed woman has accused O'Connor of assaulting her twice on June 1, 2022, then once more in a taxi and three more times at his Notting Hill home on June 2.
The musician has denied all allegations, stating via spokesperson that he is "shocked" and "looks forward to clearing his name in court." The spokesperson added that O'Connor "is unable to make any further comment because of the ongoing proceedings."
O'Connor was released on unconditional bail and will return to court for a three-day trial scheduled for January 3, 2023.
