Render: The Vancouver International Music Video Festival bills itself as "the West Coast's only music video festival," and it has just announced the details of its 2015 edition.
The festival has selected 25 finalists from more than 125 submissions from over 20 countries that will screen at the festival. These include clips from Björk, Death From Above 1979, Röyksopp, Lightning Bolt, Weed, Reuben and the Dark, Venetian Snares and more. See the full list of selected videos below.
The 125-plus submissions marks a significant spike compared to the 80 from last year's inaugural event. This year curation was handled by Tanya Goehring and Trevor Jacobson.
Goehring said in a statement, "Render celebrates the talent and skill which goes into music video production — we were looking films which captured the viewer's imagination through innovation, creativity, or technical skill, regardless of the musical genre."
The videos will be screened at a gala on November 6 at Vancouver's Vancity Theatre. The day after that on November 7, there will be an artist talk with music video directors Andrew Thomas Huang, Julia Dratel, Artino Ahmadi and Kasey Lum.
