"We All Go Back to Where We Belong" (video)

How's this for a music video concept: hire a very famous person and then get them to do absolutely nothing. For the video for their swan song single "We All Go Back to Where We Belong," R.E.M. executed that concept twice: once with actress Kirsten Dunst and once with poet John Giorno.

What we get are two new clips for the same song. One shows Dunst smiling and laughing awkwardly and being generally coy and cute. The other shows Giorno deadpanning and looking blankly past the camera. If the concept was to do nothing, then Giorno definitely won this one.

This comes from the career-spanning best-of Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011, due out November 15 through Warner Bros.
