R.E.M.

"We All Go Back to Where We Belong"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 18, 2011

After calling it quits in September, R.E.M. announced that they would look back on their legendary career with the compilation Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011. In addition to bringing together highlights from the past 30 years, the disc will contain a handful of new songs, which were recorded in the studio session following this year's Collapse into Now.

Below, stream one of the new songs, "We All Go Back to Where We Belong." This finds the band in mellow form, with a laid-back, patterning folk groove and delicate orchestral flourishes. It's a nice kiss-off with lyrics that read a bit like a pensive goodbye message.

Listen over at Rolling Stone.

Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011 is due out November 15 via Warner Bros.
