Reid Jamieson

The Noise in My Chest

BY Brent HagermanPublished Mar 1, 2004

It's hard to argue with Reid Jamieson, especially when he sweetly coos "the television lies" on the opening track to his new EP. In fact, the former Alvy front-man could probably soothe you into accepting outright lies with that trusting buoyant voice. With only spare accompaniment (guitar, and sometimes bass and piano) Jamieson's songs have to stand up to vitreous scrutiny and, luckily, they bare no blemish. Jamieson keeps his songs short, brisk, interesting and, the hardest part, leaves you wanting more. Luckily there is a full-length in the works.
