John Tejada and Reggie Watts released their debut album as Wajatta last year, and the pair have now returned with news of a follow-up.
The duo will release sophomore effort Don't Let Get You Down on February 28 through Brainfeeder. You can hear the title track from the 11-song effort, which Watts calls "the poppiest song we've ever done," in the player below.
Don't Let Get You Down is said to "crackle with the energy of fresh ideas captured at the moment of inspiration." The album's final track "All I Need Is You" does this best, billed as a six-minute "snapshot of improvisational brilliance" born from a 90-minute performance at a Los Angeles dance studio. As Tejada notes in a statement, "We never just share files."
As Watts told Billboard in 2017, he began collaborating with Tejada after meeting the veteran producer at one of his shows in Los Angeles. The pair made their Canadian debut at Montreal's MUTEK this past summer.
