Refused Cover Swedish House Mafia on New Single

"Born on the Outs" appears on 'The Malignant Fire' EP

It might be time to bust out the American Apparel zip-up collecting dust in your closet, because 2000s post-hardcore champs Refused have paid tribute to another subgenre from their decade by taking on a Swedish House Mafia song.

Yes, this incredibly Swedish content has arrived via Refused's recently shared The Malignant Fire track "Born on the Outs," which is actually a cover of Swedish House Mafia's "Greyhound" but with new lyrics. After sharing just the audio the other day, Refused have now given us a video for the reimagining.

"Kris has talked about the riff in the Swedish House Mafia song 'Greyhound' forever, so we decided to give it our own spin," frontman Dennis Lyxzen said in a press release. "David and I added some lyrics for this version, which we've called 'Born on the Outs.' Make no mistake though; this is very much 'Greyhound,' but with added lyrics about people who refused to take a side in the ongoing fight against fascism. So, you know, another ordinary Refused song."

As previously reported, The Malignant Fire EP will arrive via Spinefarm Records/Search and Destroy Records Recording on November 20.
