Red Truck Gets the Trews, Head of the Herd for Vancouver Concert Series

Red Truck Gets the Trews, Head of the Herd for Vancouver Concert Series
Following news earlier today (May 5) that Victoria's Phillips Beer is bringing back its Backyard Weekender, Vancouver suds-slingers Red Truck Beer have announced they're throwing their hat in the ring with a summer concert series of their own. It's called the "Red Truck Parking Lot Concert Series," and it brings artists like the Trews, Head of the Herd and more to the company's new East Vancouver headquarters.

A press release explains that the series will hold four outdoor shows in the Red Truck parking lot between June and September, with plans to pair "Red Truck Beer, food trucks, bands, DJ's and sunshine in the heart of East Vancouver." Long-running local funk group Five Alarm Funk will headline the first instalment on June 13 and will be joined throughout the day by Afro-Cuban Kutapira, soul singer Tonye Aganaba and DJ Vinyl Ritchie.

Exact details on the other three shows are still shaping up, but they will feature sets from rockers the Trews, Head of the Herd, the Dudes, No Sinner, Good for Grapes, Logan Mize, Rich Hope and a sock-hop-minded DJ set from the selectors behind local event Ice Cream Social. These acts will be dispersed between remaining parking lot concerts on July 11, August 15 and September 12.

Early bird tickets for the first show are being priced at $20, and go on sale this Friday (May 8). You'll find out more about ticketing options over here.
