Red Hot + Rio 2 Reveals Tracklisting Featuring Beck, Beirut, David Byrne

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 4, 2011

Back in March, we pointed to the Red Hot Organization, which has been raising money and awareness for the fight against AIDS over the last 20 years, compiling a new compilation titled Red Hot + Rio 2. A follow-up to the organization's initial collection from 1996, the set finds a number of contemporary artists saluting Brazilian Tropicália music of the '60s. While initially it was announced that artists like Dirty Projectors, Neon Indian and St. Vincent would be included on the collection, the recently released tracklisting shows the list of contributors been tweaked from those early reports.

The two-disc set still features a healthy host of talent, including Beck, Beirut, David Byrne, Os Mutantes, Seu Jorge and Madlib, but some artists unfortunately couldn't get their songs in on time. Though Dirty Projectors, St. Vincent and Neon Indian are not on the physical copies of the compilation, Red Hot hopes to include the songs as digital bonuses by the time Red Hot + Rio 2 is released on June 28.

Check out the star-studded tracklist below and the cover above.
