Red Hot Chili Peppers are continuing in their series of 7-inch singles by releasing the third instalment. Featuring the tracks "Never Is a Long Time" and "Love of Your Life," it's available now and the songs have hit the web.

"Never Is a Long Time" is a mid-tempo pop rocker that doesn't stand out as one of the group's most memorable melodies, although there are some interesting production touches including soft falsetto harmonies and a whooshing transition at the 1:05 mark.

"Love of Your Life" is a chilled-out ballad that features some impressive guitar work from recent addition Josh Klinghoffer, who delivers watery-sounding licks before shredding it up during and extended solo that's gratifyingly frantic. There's also an outro bass solo from Flea.

Order the the single (plus the previous instalments in the series) here. Expect subsequent singles to arrive on November 6, December 4 and December 18, plus another in 2013.
