Red Bull gives you wings, and they'll be looking to give a DJ theirs again this year in the world's largest DJ competition, Red Bull Thre3style, as they've announced that Canadian applications are now being accepted until June 11.
The annual DJ contest has been reformatted for a new and exciting 2014 edition. Where the comp once boasted eight qualifying rounds, it has since been compacted to two: one in the east (July 11 in Toronto) and one in the west (July 20 in Calgary). The competition will get fierce as DJs have just 15 minutes to spin an original mix that will be judged on originality, creativity and crowd engagement.
The eight DJs in each regional qualifier will be shaved down to three for the nationals in Vancouver on July 26, where the winner will be chosen to represent Canada at August's world finals in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Last year's finals took place in Toronto, where Japan's DJ Shintaro won.
