Since 1998, the Red Bull Music Academy has brought together aspiring producers, musicians and DJs at global hotspots like London, Madrid, Melbourne and Cape Town, but this year's series of workshops and events will take place on North American soil in New York City this fall. If you're unclear on just what goes on at the academy, though, you're in luck, because an upcoming tour will fill you in via Q&A sessions and some DJ performances.
The Red Bull Music Academy has teamed up with MUTEK this year for a series of late winter concerts in Canada geared at repping the fall workshop series. Starting February 29 at Ottawa's Junxion and bouncing as far east as Montreal and as west as Vancouver, the national tour will feature Q&A sessions for prospective students, some lectures and a run through on how to apply to the program. The concerts aren't just informational, though, as they'll feature performances from Dutch electronic producer Martyn and Toronto's Egyptrixx. You can check the tour schedule below.

The first spate of events will take place from September 30 to October 12, while the second sessions run October 21 to November 2. The details have yet to be delivered, but like previous years, the Red Bull Music Academy will host a number of lectures from industry professionals throughout the days, and by night students can get the chance to flex their skills in clubs. Anyone interested in taking part can apply now over here until April 2.
