The Problems Associated with Running

BY Jasamine White-GluzPublished Feb 1, 2004

Ontario’s the Reason are making every effort to stand out in this overcrowded sea of poppy emo bands with the band’s latest tasty five-song release of their best pop punk ditties. It’s hard not to dance to the riffs in "Subways in Pittsburgh” or "150.” The Reason is pop punk at its core, but they manage to fuse interesting bits of hardcore on "Tortoise” or folky Against Me! styles on "What Dosen’t Kill You Makes You Grow.” Definitely the love child of Choke and Thrice, The Problems Associated with Running isn’t really anything groundbreaking, but it’s definitely a fun time and an impressive start.
