Rare Radiohead Demo from 1986 Goes Up for Auction
We've got good news for those who missed out on bidding on a rare early Radiohead demo when it popped up on eBay last year: another of the beloved band's early cassette demos has emerged, this time as part of an auction in the UK this September.

The cassette includes nine tracks and dates back to 1986, when the band were still known as On a Friday. The songs included here are "Fragile Friend," "Girl (In the Purple Dress)," "Everybody Knows," "Mountains (On the Move)," "Lemming Trail" and "Lock the Door," plus remixes of "Fragile Friend," "Lemming Trail" and "Lock the Door."

Some of these tracks have emerged online in recent years. Hear a few of them below.

So how do we know the tape is legit? Auctioneer Pail Fairweather told NME, "It has come directly from an old friend of the band who was at school with them at Abingdon School. We have copies of his school yearbook from 85/86 showing him and all four members of the band."

The tape will go up for sale at Omega Auctions in Stockport, England, on September 14 at 10 a.m. local time. It's expected to sell for at least £1,000 ($1582.66 Canadian). The same auction will reportedly be selling some diary entries, a painting and hand-written lyrics by Libertines frontman Pete Doherty.
