​Rapper Pop Smoke Dead at 20

The rising star was shot and killed during an armed robbery

Pop Smoke has died. The rapper was reportedly shot dead during an armed robbery this morning. He was 20 years old.

Pop Smoke was shot and killed this morning during a home invasion at his Hollywood Hills house, TMZ reports. Two men wearing masks and hoodies reportedly entered Pop Smoke's home around 4:30 a.m. local time and fired multiple shots.
 
Pop Smoke was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
 
The two suspects have not been caught or identified as of press time.
 
The rising star was born Bashar Barakah Jackson in Brooklyn and earned his breakout single just last year with "Welcome to the Party." That track appeared on his debut mixtape Meet the Woo and went on to be remixed by Nicki Minaj and Skepta.
 
Later in 2019, Pop Smoke also collaborated on Travis Scott's JACKBOYS.
 
Earlier this month, he released his second mixtape, Meet the Woo 2. It features appearances from Quavo and A Boogie wit da Hoodie. A deluxe edition of the mixtape was released with additional guests including Nav, Gunna and PnB Rock.
