Late metal guitarist Randy Rhoads played in Ozzy Osbourne's band and Quiet Riot before his tragic death in a plane crash in 1982. And while the rock legend has received countless praise over the years, he's now being toasted with a tribute album featuring some pretty notable contributors. Immortal Randy Rhoads - The Ultimate Tribute will be out on March 3 through UDR Music.
The biggest names involved here include Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian, Black Sabbath/Dio drummer Vinny Appice, Testament vocalist Chuck Billy, Children of Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho, Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist Gus G., Grand Funk Railroad/Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick, and Dweezil Zappa.
A couple of the players here were close with Rhoads during his life. This includes fellow Ozzy collaborator Rudy Sarzo, Quiet Riot bandmate Frankie Banali, and bother Kelle Rhoads.

CD Digipak copies will comes with a bonus DVD containing interviews with people involved in the album, plus a feature on the music school run by Rhoads' family members. There will also be a double vinyl pressing and a digital version.
