'Coastal Frequencies' (live video)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 11, 2014

For fans looking for a little extra taste of our country's live music scene, we've got just the thing for you. Coastal Frequencies is a Vancouver-based web series, co-presented with Exclaim!, in which filmmakers Justin Ludwig and Sean Patrick Shaul will be documenting live shows with high-quality videos. Many videos are in the work, but today marks our first taste of the series.

Our introduction comes courtesy of Prairie rock outfit Rah Rah, whose February show at Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret was captured on film by Coastal Frequencies. In the 14-minute clip, we watch the band play three songs: "20's," "Duet for Emmylou and the Grievous Angel" and "First Kiss." These are interspersed with interview clips, and the performance climaxes in an explosion of confetti.

Watch it below, and stay tuned for further instalments.

Coastal Frequencies is also presented with Become the Media and Prairie Coast Films.
