Radiohead Issue Statement Regarding "Errors" and "Negligence" That Resulted in Fatal Toronto Stage Collapse

BY Josiah HughesPublished Nov 20, 2020

Following up from last year's statementRadiohead have once again shared their thoughts on the devastating 2012 Downsview Park stage collapse in Toronto, which was directly responsible for drum technician Scott Johnson's death.

In an Instagram post, the band posted a photo of Johnson, along with an update regarding Domenic Cugliari, the engineer who designed and approved the stage that collapsed.

The band claim that a hearing from the Discipline Committee of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario resulted in Cugliari admitting to a "catalog of errors and the negligence on his part that led to the stage collapse and Scott's death."

"These admissions are 8 years too late," the band added, explaining that Cugliari is now retired and "seemingly beyond any legal recrimination."
