Radiohead Ask Fans to Get "Nude"... And Remix It

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Apr 2, 2008

Following their less-than-conventional ways, Radiohead have launched their very own remix contest. The band are inviting fans to remix In Rainbows’ "Nude” and then upload their version to a newly constructed website dedicated to the contest. The remixes are then ranked according to fans’ votes, with the No. 1-voted mix being announced May 1.

And to make it easier on the novice remixer, Radiohead have partnered with iTunes and GarageBand to allow fans and remix fame-seekers to download five components — or "stems” — to "Nude”: voice, bass, guitar, drums and strings/effects. The catch, though, is that each stem is going to cost you the equivalent of an ordinarily priced song. But thankfully, if you don’t own GarageBand, iTunes will also work as your remixing tool.
At this point, Holy Fuck are leading the race by several hundred votes. But who knows, perhaps you can be the one to dethrone the Toronto improv electro rockers. The physical single of "Nude” hit shops on Monday (March 30).
