Radiohead Aren't Getting Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame This Time

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Dec 13, 2017

Radiohead's "strange, malnourished and sad" fans will have to wait at least another year to see Thom Yorke and co. inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Following an earlier announcement of eligible artists, the 2018 inductees were announced today (December 13).

Nina Simone, the Cars, Bon Jovi, the Moody Blues and Dire Straits have all been confirmed as the latest class of inductees, and they will all receive the honour during a ceremony on April 14 in Cleveland.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe will also receive recognition, getting inducted into the Early Influences wing of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Radiohead aren't the only ones getting snubbed this round. Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Judas Priest, LL Cool J, MC5, Rage Against the Machine and the Zombies are among the acts that will just have to try their luck again in a future year.

Chances are Radiohead will be taking the news just fine; bassist Colin Greenwood seemed like the only band member remotely interested in attending the ceremony.

When asked if he was looking forward to potentially attending the ceremony, guitarist Ed O'Brien previously said, "I'd rather be sitting at home in front of the fire or going to a gig."

Jonny Greenwood, meanwhile, said, "It seems very showbiz and I'm not very showbiz."
