Well, the time has finally come. This morning (February 14), Radiohead at long last announced their eighth full-length album, which they've dubbed The King of Limbs. Via new mini-site Thekingoflimbs.com, the band revealed the LP, calling it "the world's first newspaper album." They also posted a note saying, "THANK YOU FOR WAITING."
Like Radiohead's last release, 2007's In Rainbows, this one will come as a deluxe physical package, which will be released May 9. But instead of going back to their "pay what you want" model, the digital version of the album will be provided to everyone who pre-orders The King of Limbs. And best of all, those download links will be issued this Saturday (February 19).
As for labels, The King of Limbs will come via TBD Records in North America, XL in the UK and Japan's Hostess Entertainment in Asia.
UPDATE: A standard-issue version The King of Limbs will hit North America shops on March 29 and a day earlier in Europe. That version will come on CD, twelve-inch and as a digital download.
