"Words" (video)

Singer-songwriter Rachel Ries recently released her third LP Ghost of a Gardener, and now she's unveiled a new video for album cut "Words," which you can watch first right here at Exclaim!

Raised by Mennonite missionary parents, Ries grew up between Zaire and South Dakota, allotting her a vast and wide range of inspiration — though her latest album, and the song "Words" in particular, marks a return from a much-needed break from the music biz.

"'Words' seems to mark the pivotal moments in my music-life," she explained in a statement. "It's the first song I wrote when returning to this career after a long, quiet hiatus."

She calls the song "my brave little winged song, marking my way" and the accompanying visuals sweetly depict the words being planted and blossoming into a life of their own. You can scroll past Ries' upcoming tour dates to give the new clip a watch in the player below.
