R. Kelly Going EDM for House Album

If you've been dying to hear R. Kelly's voice soaring over the sounds of a four-on-the-floor beat and the occasional drop, you'll be glad to know that there's reportedly a house-inspired LP from the singer coming our way sometime in the future.

News of Kels' EDM-driven effort was revealed by the artist himself at the 24th annual Chosen Few Picnic in Chicago earlier this month, when he interrupted a special guest performance to tell the crowd about his plans.

"I want ya'll to know a secret. I'm working on a house album right now, and I want ya'll to know, it's coming," he said. "And ya'll know, I love music and I feel like I can do anything when it comes to music because I am music just like ya'll."

You can watch some fan-shot footage of the announcement below.

The as-yet-untitled effort is one of many upcoming projects from the veteran R&B performer. He's allegedly been prepping a follow-up to last year's Black Panties that comes under the no-brainer title White Panties, while he also has a long-promised holiday album in the works as well.

"I started it last Christmas actually, but I don't believe in just putting out a Christmas album just to sell records," he previously revealed. "In order to get that and capture that moment, you have to take a couple of Christmases and then you come with it."

Who's to say if and when any of the discussed LPs will come out of Kels' vault, though. Due dates for the proposed upcoming releases, of which there are apparently seven or eight, are all currently up in the air.
